My Story

Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio I would say one of the most influential people in my life has been my mother- a dedicated single mom who embodied strength, tenacity, and perseverance. She worked hard to keep me and my siblings out of the projects and in a home which she eventually became the proud owner of.

I was blessed to have had a good childhood.

Through all her laboring, my mother managed to go decades without any heavy medication- only the occasional Bayer for aches and pains. Then, she developed arthritis; and later, osteoporosis and spinal stenosis which required surgery to correct. But Anna Mae continued to endure and resisted the lure of pharmaceutical drugs.

But that all changed in her later life when her doctor detected cancer cells within her body.

Though the exact location was never found, it was this discovery that caused my fighting mother to succumbed to chemotherapy. She described her experience as being "the worst thing". Instead of recovering, less than a month after my mother began the medication- she passed away.

It was my mother's passing in 2009 that inspired my passion for health and wellness, and what led me to become a Certified Health Coach in 2013.

And it is my mother's passing that still drives me to spread knowledge and awareness to as many women as I can so that they can make the informed decisions they need to live their most optimal life.
